“Let us dare to be altruistic, let us dare to put it at the heart of our decisions and our institutions and, above all, at the heart of our contemplation. » Matthew Ricard

Through 40 black and white photographs, the Buddhist monk and photographer Matthieu Ricard invites us to this contemplation. It takes us into the unaltered immensity of the landscapes of Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal or elsewhere.

He captures the tenderness of a spiritual master beaming with kindness or a child with an innocent gaze. His luminous photographs, imprinted with harmony, immerse us in a universe of peace, conducive to spirituality. Punctuated with selected thoughts, they are a hymn to fullness and lead us to values as fundamental as consideration for others or benevolence.

Presented for the first time in 2018 in Arles at the Rencontres de la photographie, the traveling exhibition "Contemplation" attracted more than 50 visitors. Each of the 000 black and white photographs is accompanied by a thought chosen by the photographer. A bilingual book with meditative quotes in French and English.
