Dear Rinpoche,
Some time ago I was feeding pigeons. But it brought rats, so I feed the rats every night with some food. But these little beasts do damage: they eat the flowers, kill the chicks. I find it difficult to stop feeding them, I feel guilty for having offered them this facility and this habit. I know they'll get by without me, but I feel guilty. What would you do in my place ?

Venerable Dagpo Rinpoche:
One possibility would be to stop feeding the rats, and if there is a body of water not far from your home (pond, river or other), to give food to fish and other aquatic animals.
