On Saturday October 12 at 15:30 p.m., the GoodPlanet Foundation will inaugurate the “Wonder” exhibition in the presence of Matthieu Ricard and Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
Matthieu Ricard will lend himself to a major public interview and will offer an unprecedented collective meditation session to visitors to the Foundation.
“Melting into the immensity of the sky, getting lost in the maze of bark, disappearing into the intimacy of a flower like Alice who goes to the other side of the mirror and finds herself in wonderland. Savoring the freshness of the present moment without getting lost in the thousand and one elsewheres of distraction…”
In short, to marvel at everything, nothing, the simple, the leaf, the rock, the water, a detail of moss like a sublime landscape. Find a child's look at nature, its infinitely large and its infinitely small. It is towards this delectable wonder too often lost in the maze of our cities and our lives, that the Buddhist monk and photographer Matthieu Ricard invites us through this unprecedented photo exhibition adapted from his book to be published on October 10, 2019 by Editions de La Martiniere.
“Wonder uplifts us by inviting into our inner landscape serene, expansive, and open mental states that engender a sense of fit with the world…”
Wonder takes us out of ourselves; it enlarges the mind and expands the heart. It fills us with the vast and moving interdependence of beings and nature. Wonder breeds respect for wilderness, respect leads to a desire to protect our environment, and that desire leads to action. From the Himalayan peaks to the magic of Iceland, passing through the paths of Patagonia and the frozen rivers of the Yukon, the exhibition offers an unprecedented selection of photos by Matthieu Ricard in large format, accompanied by a committed text, a cry from the heart, which recalls, with humility, the current ecological issues.
